Is Frozen Yogurt Good For the Old?

Frozen yogurt is not as unhealthy as ice cream. In fact, 95 percent of Americans consider it healthy, making it a healthy alternative. While it contains fat, frozen yogurt is generally lower in fat than ice cream. It is made from dairy products, such as fresh yogurt, and contains live bacteria cultures. The live bacteria present in frozen yogurt make it a healthy product. Those looking for a healthy, wholesome dessert should consider frozen yogurt.

While the marketing for frozen yogurt is healthy, it is not a replacement for real Greek yogurt. Though frozen yogurt has fewer calories and fat, it is still not as nutritious as regular yogurt. Despite popular belief, you can find yogurt with probiotics, but most of them will not survive the freezing process. Look for a seal stating that the product contains live cultures. If you can’t find this seal, try looking for yogurt with “live and active cultures.”

Greek yogurt is a great source of protein. Compared to regular yogurt, it has a much higher protein content. Seniors can meet their daily recommended amount of protein thanks to Greek yogurt. But keep in mind that Greek yogurt has a higher sugar content than its regular counterpart. Even if you don’t enjoy flavored yogurt, be sure to choose flavors that have fewer than 120 calories per container and 13 grams of sugar.
